DRX (DRX) v.s. ZETA (ZETA) (3:00 PM EST) (-850 DRX)
Both teams enter this match on a strong win-streak with a 9-1 record in their last ten matches. The slaying in DRX’s last match was stronger though which could result in them causing more havoc. The players of DRX all had kill-death differentials in double-digits with Rb leading the way as DRX’s duelist Jett/Raze mainly. BuZz has been the most consistent though as a sentinel main for DRX (1.32 K/D) which should concern ZETA even more since he is slaying efficiently as a support player. On the other hand, Laz has been just as efficient with the same K/D and similar role. That being said this match can potentially come down to the wire but with DRX having more dominant slayers they should have an edge.
KRU Esports (KRU) v.s. Team Liquid (TL) (6:00 PM EST) (-300 TL)
The number one team in LATAM in KRU will now face off with the number three team of EU in TL. However, despite the rank difference, TL was able to prevail in the previous matchup which resulted in a 2-0 sweep. Slaying was not as dominant for KRU this series as they had only one player with a positive kill-death differential which may cause them to struggle again if a similar scenario occurs. As for TL, two players had positive double-digit kill-death differentials (Nivera, soulcas), with soulcas dealing more damage per round (154.5) as an intel agent main. Nivera may benefit in this matchup more though and likely to perform well as the second most efficient player of TL (1.20 K/D) and controller main (Chamber) which will cause him to be more evasive with his abilities. The leading slayer for TL in ScreaM has also been the main healer of the team which can be chaotic for KRU since he can potentially keep his teammates and himself alive longer in fights. This would be needed for TL since KRU has the two most consistent players of both teams in Keznit, and NagZet with 1.34/1.39 K/D’s. Keznit’s performance for KRU will be crucial though with him being an entry-fragger for his team to initiate battles first the majority of the time. Regardless this match may end up going down to the wire but TL definitely has a chance if they’re able to slow down Keznit.
OpTic Gaming (OG) v.s. XERXIA (XIA) (9:00 PM EST) (-638 OG)
To conclude the slate, both of these teams are looking to rebound off a one-game losing streak. Fortunately, for OG yay has been the most consistent slayer with a 1.34 K/D as of late and has been one of OG’s entry-fraggers while now playing agents like Chamber to play both aggressively and retreat right away. This may cause an annoyance for XIA who has no one in that range slaying wise (Surf being the closest) with a 1.23 K/D and also the entry-fragger for XIA. Unfortunately, for XIA they may be at a disadvantage if Surf continues to perform like he has as of late which has been with negative kill-death differentials. This may give yay an edge in early engagements which may result in easier gunfights for his teammates. OG’s experience and #1 ranking in NA may also give them an advantage over this XIA trying to make a come up and currently, unranked.
