The Steubenville High School E-Sports team, which was started in the 2018-19 school year, is back for another season. E-Sports were introduced and originally coached by Harding Middle School tech teacher M. J. Burkett and Steubenville High School teacher Scott Lane. The team is currently coached by Steubenville High School teachers John Abram and Lane. The E-Sports team first competed in the Spring of 2019 with their first year of varsity competition in the spring of 2020. The team currently competes in Clash Royale, League of Legends, Fortnite, Overwatch, Chess, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Valorant, and SMITE. Most recently, the team defeated Buckeye Local in Rocket League. Five of the Steubenville High School team members have been awarded $1,500 scholarships to Marietta College. The team currently has seventeen members.
