Movistar Riders (MR) v.s. Players (PLY) (7:30 AM EST) (-788 PLY)
MR continue to keep their winning streak alive but now have to defend it against one of the top teams in the game in PLY who are coming off a dominant series with four of the five players on the team having a double-digit positive kill-death differential game. For MR, alex remained one of the more consistent players on his squad despite finishing as the second most efficient and still leads his team in damage per round at 83 which should result in him being one of the more relied upon slayers. However, sh1ro of PLY now has the highest damage of both teams at 86.7 and is the main anchor/sniper for PLY which may result in easier kills for his teammates. Despite MR gradually moving up the ranks this match may become one of the more difficult ones for them because they haven’t played a team like PLY with so much experience and as high-caliber often. That being said if alex ends up underperforming here it shouldn’t be a surprise and MR may end up getting dominated.
Party Astronauts (ASTRO) v.s. Berlin International Gaming (BIG) (11:00 AM EST) (-850 BIG)
ASTRO is coming off a loss where they were swept and face another tough opponent in BIG who are also looking to rebound off a 2-0 loss. A dominant sniper on the other side became a problem for ASTRO and is likely to happen again this time with syrsoN being the most efficient player for BIG as of late with a 1.26 K/D. Also, the successful sniping from ASTRO’s opponent trickled down into the teammates of the sniper performing really well which could also happen here, especially when syrsoN is second leading in damage behind tabseN who has had 85.6 per round. Unfortunately for ASTRO, Jonji has been the only to deal damage in that range as of late (89.3), but will becoming off a negative kill-death differential game of -9 which could cause him to have to regain momentum, but not as easily. Therefore, BIG has the edge here in rebounding and receiving the win.
Team Liquid (TL) v.s. GODSENT (GDSNT) (2:30 PM EST) (-163 TL)
To conclude the slate, TL regained and got back to their winning ways with a sweep over their previous opponent and now face a lesser ranked opponent. Unfortunately, for GDSNT they have to deal with a team full of everyone being consistent in slaying as of late with kill-death ratios above one and a sniper being the most efficient (oSee) with a 1.35 kill-death ratio. The most reliable slayer for GDSNT right now in dumau has regressed slightly despite coming off a positive kill-death differential game and may have a tough time carrying the load for his team. As a result, TL should have their way here, especially oSee once again with the opposing sniper in HEN1 being one of the least damage dealers on his team at 66.5 per round compared to oSee’s 78.6. TL’s experience against past top teams should also give them some edge here since GDSNT hasn’t reached that top level yet.
