Unlike in real life, Honeycomb cannot be eaten in Minecraft. Instead, this crafting material can be used to make plenty of useful objects in the game. Procuring Honeycomb can be tricky for players since they have to be wary of damage-causing bees as well.

There are two methods of getting honeycomb in Minecraft.

Method 1: Smoke

The first method involves using smoke to protect yourself against the bees.

Start by locating a beehive or bee nest. You’ll often find one in the flower forest biome. Make sure that the beehive is at Honey level 5 or higher.
Start a campfire directly below the beehive, so that Smoke travels up and dulls the bees in the beehive.
Now, use Shears to shear the beehive. Three honeycomb materials will drop from the beehive, and you can pick this up to add it to your hotbar and inventory without getting stung by bees.

Method 2: Dispenser

The second method uses a Dispenser. This method is often used by Minecraft players when setting up auto-collecting bee farms.

Find a beehive at Honey level 5 or higher.
Place a Dispenser with a glass bottle near the beehive. You can also use a Dispenser with Shears. The Dispenser will trigger the Shears to break down the beehive, and no bees will emerge to attack you.
Once the honeycomb has dropped, you can collect it and add it to your inventory.

What to Make with Honeycomb in Minecraft?

Honeycomb Block: This decorative block can be made with 4 Honeycombs on a crafting table.
Candle: You can make a Candle on a Crafting Table with 1 String and 1 Honeycomb.
Beehive: You’ll need 6 woodblocks and 3 honeycombs in order to make 1 Beehive.
Waxed Copper: Waxed Copper is resistant to oxidization in Minecraft and never turns green. You can make it on a Crafting table with 1 Honeycomb and 1 Copper Block.

Honeycomb is a valuable resource in Minecraft. The first method for collecting Honeycomb is the most effective way. If you need to collect a lot of Honeycomb when producing Honeycomb blocks for building, the best idea is to place a Campfire with a Carpet below the Beehive for a constant source of Smoke.
