Martin Truex – DK: $9,500 | FD: $10,500  – Starting 12th

Kyle Busch is going to be a popular pick here starting 37th after making contact with the wall during Happy Hour. That being said, Busch is moving to a backup car and while I love the ceiling on the differential here, there is a considerable amount of risk as well. Martin Truex has been a strong driver at Vegas, finishing in the top-ten in eight of his last nine races here and sixth or better in his last three. Truex has always had success in low-downforce races and has broken 110 fantasy points twice at this track in the last five years. Truex gets a starting spot that has a lot of maneuverability and while I expect him to also be higher owned, shouldn’t be the Busch chalk of this race.

Erik Jones – DK: $7,300 | FD: $8,500 – Starting 23rd

Jones started second last week and was able to hold the front for most of the race and finished third while also leading 18 laps and having 23 of the fastest laps. Jones had an up and down 2021 season, but some early results from the Clash and Auto Club have shown a pretty competitive car here. Jones qualified 23rd for this race but was only 3.5 MPH off of the fastest time. If we take practice times into effect, Jones turned in the 13th fastest time, so there is wiggle room here on his starting position. Jones has been an inconsistent driver over the past two seasons, but with a new crew chief this year and a mid to low tier price here, rolling the dice on Jones provides a lot of upside.
