Slate Notes
- Rogue stumbled again on Friday, leading to their third loss now in four games. This was at the hands of Fnatic, but Rogue now runs into an Excel team that has won five of its last six games. Excel’s price is nuked into the ground here and really with the momentum on each side, I think XL is much more in play than the odds imply here. This may be a match I sit out for, but I don’t know if rostering Rogue right now is the play in their current funk. I think XL has a legitimate shot here and this is a match that can finally put some respect on their name and nearly lock them into playoffs.
- Fnatic got the big win over Rogue on Friday and now gets a Mad Lions team that I still think is vastly over-rated. Mad Lions was favored over Excel on Friday and lost to them in 25 minutes. I think Fnatic is the best play on this slate.
- I wrote this article while G2 had a 10k gold lead at 15 minutes against Misfits. Let us just say I had to delete a lot. Misfits absolutely embarrassed G2 from the 15-minute mark on with multiple base defenses, finally able to push out, a massive team fight win, a baron buff, a Jankos pick, and Misfits ended up winning with a gold lead and 28 kills. If you are a League of Legends fan, please go watch this match.
- G2 is the slate’s largest favorite at -277 over BDS, however, Caps is the fourth-priced Mid and Flakked the third ADC. This should lead to G2 being pretty chalky even after their massive collapse to Misfits on Friday.
