Nintendo Switch 2022 Game Releases to Look Out For – VGR.com

2022 is shaping up to be a great year for Nintendo Switch players. The Nintendo Switch console boasts visually stunning games, and it’s expected that plenty more will be launched throughout the year. Also, with the release of the new Switch OLED, players will benefit from enhanced images and gameplay.

Whether you play on the original Switch, Switch Lite, or OLED, there will be a great selection of games to choose from in the upcoming months. However, it may seem challenging to choose which games will be the most fun to play — you may enjoy the Splatoon franchise or are eagerly waiting for Legends of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2.

Below, we’ve compiled a list of some of the biggest hitters coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2022.

1. Splatoon 3

It’s expected that Splatoon 3 will be released sometime in 2022, as the official release date is not available yet. You’ll be venturing into the Splatlands, a new region open for exploration. You’ll battle Inklings and Octolings in the city of Splatsville, also known as the ‘City of Chaos.’

New features in Splatoon 3 include multiplayer action, a bow, updated customization options and enhanced movement abilities.

2. Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope

In the latest Mario and Rabbids adventure, you can team up with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Rabbid Luigi, Rabbid Peach and all of their friends to go on a galactic journey. You’ll fight off an evil enemy and save all of your Spark companions.

There’s an eclectic roster of nine heroes to choose from. You can take down new bosses and familiar enemies and rescue Sparks throughout the Galaxy.

3. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel

If you were one of the gamers obsessed with BOTW, then you’re in for a treat with the next installment. The first BOTW title gave you an expansive map to explore with a stunning level of detail.

Early footage of the second installment shows that it’ll be just as visually stunning, if not more. Details have been under wraps for a while. Still, some believe that the game will feature multiple playable characters, improvements to the game’s exploration and item-crafting mechanics.

4. Marvel’s Midnight Suns

You’ll be able to explore the dark side of Marvel in Marvel’s Midnight Suns. Players will battle corrupted versions of the most iconic Marvel characters and fend off the forces of Lilith to stop her from reviving Chthon, her evil master.

The game is a tactical RPG game where you team up with Ghost Rider, Magik, Blade and Nico Minoru. As the Hunter, you build your team, earn team members’ trust and lead them to victory against your enemies.

5. Bayonetta 3

Set to launch sometime this year and exclusively on the Nintendo Switch, Bayonetta 3’s game animations look as stylish as ever. Bayonetta is back to using complex moves, pulling off combos, and getting high scores. The gameplay combat revolves around the player’s reflexes.

When you play Bayonetta 3, you’ll likely fend off unique enemies and bosses consisting of angels and demons. Some leaks suggest that the game’s set pieces will occur in outer space, and they’ll be at a grander scale than older Bayonetta installments.

6. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

This is expected to be the ultimate Lego Star Wars game. There are over 200 playable characters you can choose from, and you’ll even be able to play through Star Wars events in order. It’s a gaming experience full of adventure and whimsical humor.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be launched this coming April.

7. Kirby and the Forgotten Land

You can team up with Kirby and his partner, Bandana Waddle Dee, in co-op play in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. You can explore in 3D stages as you adventure through a mysterious world packed with abandoned structures from a fallen civilization.

Fight through enemies at each stage by poking, slashing, freezing and using Kirby’s hammer. Your home base is the once-deserted Waddle Dee Town, and as you progress through the steps, your mission is to find and save Waddle Dees in peril.

All of these games will be released on the Nintendo Switch in 2022. They’ll be available for download on the Nintendo Eshop or local gaming stores. You may even want to consider connecting your Nintendo Switch Pro Controller to your PC to play even more games.

Many gamers will connect their controllers to their PC to play some popular titles — Steam even released a post outlining the top games played with a Switch Controller. Some popular games on the list include Grand Theft Auto V, Dragonball: FighterZ and Rocket League.

Expect More Switch Games in 2022

The games listed above are only a taste of what’s to come for Nintendo Switch players this year. There will be a nice assortment of big titles and indie games available. Grab your Switch and get ready for a year full of fun games to play!
