Slate Notes

  • Well, who saw 0-9 Astralis defeating 9-0 Rogue in dominating fashion? If you rose your hand you are a liar – or maybe one of the 0.3% of people who rostered Astralis. So, flash in the pan or something to look into further? Well, Rogue’s draft left a lot to be desired – maybe some cockiness from knowing who they were facing. I am not going to over-analyze the loss, it is something that we just have to know is always a possibility and why we never go all-in on any team in LOL DFS. Rogue gets Misfits on Saturday, which Misfits are off of a win and do have a good roster. It will be interesting to see how Rogue responds. Rogue comes in at third most expensive – I still think they are the play here, but a few things could happen: Over-reaction that lowers their ownership or over-reaction that inflates Misfits ownership.
  • Fnatic against Vitality is a match I am intrigued in as a viewer – both of these teams project out very strong on paper and yet both have taken their lumps recently. Fnatic won their first matchup in a very tight match with just a 700 gold lead and 16-12 kill advantage. Vitality played a sloppy game against XL on Friday which saw them down early but they made a strong run late game before ultimately falling.
  • XL played a great match against Vitality on Friday, but again kind of struggled in the late game in closing it out. This also led to a lot of late-game fighting. XL is quietly now 5-5 on the season and the addition to Mikyx at support has made this team overall better. XL is a -145 favorite over Team BDS on Saturday, but at a mid-tier of pricing, they are a play I like a good amount. Again, the knock-on XL is that games sometimes get extended longer than they need to be. That being said, that can be a good thing for us in DFS.
