Slate Notes
- Rogue came away with another perfect weekend and now sits at 9-0 on the Split and gets to face 0-9 Astralis. Not much to say here that the massive odds don’t already imply. Comp, Larssen, Trymbi, and Odoamne rank 2nd-5th in KDA in the LEC, while four Astralis starters rank in the bottom-10. The worry here is that Rogue will outplay Astralis at every level here, leading to a game without a ton of kill equity. These lopsided matches are a little hard to predict as on paper it is very one-sided. If Astralis tries to win through engagements, we likely get enough action to justify the Rogue top prices. There is also a world where Rogue wins in under 25 minutes. So as much of a lock Rogue is, they actually fall into more of a GPP window on this slate. In the first matchup in week one, Rogue won in 24 minutes with 15 kills.
- The rest of this slate has some of the top versus the bottom to open this week with Fnatic against SK and Vitality against XL. Of those two, Vitality seems the more volatile team, while XL has been the team to show the most promise as they sit at 4-5. XL defeated Vitality in week one in a 37-minute game and a 13-8 kill total. Fnatic defeated SK 13-8 in 33 minutes. I think XL is in play here to pull one off against Vitality, but I think this may be a match I avoid in general or maybe a few GPP darts.
- The rest of this slate is also a copy of week one, day three. Misfits defeated BDS in 29 minutes but with a 13k gold lead and 15-9 kill advantage. Mad Lions defeated G2 in 26 minutes with a 13k gold advantage and 12-4 kill count. Of all previous matchups, I think G2 bouncing back here is the most realistic.
