The NBA Rundown – FanDuel & DraftKings NBA DFS Picks – January 28, 2022 (1/28/22) – FantasyCruncher.com DFS Articles & Insights – fantasycruncher.com

Please note that players on DraftKings and FanDuel have multi-position eligibility and may not always match their position between each other. In this article, we will be breaking down some of our favorite plays on the slate at their positions. Remember to keep your eye on the news as the day progresses, as NBA news frequently changes the slate.

Point Guard

LaMelo Ball ($8,400 DK, $8,600 FD)

LaMelo Ball CHA 41 23 18 32 19.3 85.8 11 13

The details of who will play in this game are still in flux as Anthony Davis and Lebron James are questionable. On the Charlotte side of the ball, Gordon Hayward is OUT, and Kelly Oubre is questionable. LaMelo is a bit too cheap on both sites for this situation, and I’ll be loading up on him tonight.

Shooting Guard

Desmond Bane ($6,100 DK, $6,700 FD)

Desmond Bane MEM 46 31 15 30 17.8 56.1 7.9 5

We have an exciting matchup tonight in Memphis as the Grizzlies host the Jazz. These two teams have trended in opposite directions recently; the Grizz are 7-3 in their last 10 games, while the Jazz are 2-8 and have lost their last 3. Memphis will be without Dillon Brooks, Tyus Jones, and Kyle Anderson, which opens up some extra opportunities. The Jazz currently ranks 23rd in fantasy points allowed to the shooting guard position, and they’ll be without their defensive anchor Rudy Gobert tonight. On the season, Bane averages 1.02 fantasy points per minute.

Small Forward

Cameron Johnson ($4,700 DK, $5,000 FD)

Cameron Johnson PHX 43 34 9 25.7 11.5 33.1 7.1 3

The Suns are missing a few key players in their rotation as Jae Crowder, Abdel Nader, Deandre Ayton, and JaVale McGee are all OUT for tonight’s matchup against the Timberwolves. In 3332 possessions with Ayton and Crowder off the floor, Johnson averages .9 fantasy points per minute.

Power Forward

Wendell Carter Jr. ($6,700 DK, $7,000 FD)

PLAYER TEAM GP W L MIN PTS TOUCHES REB CHANCES POTENTIAL AST
Wendell Carter Jr. ORL 40 6 34 29.1 13.4 60.8 16.9 4.6

We have two of the worst teams in the league matching up tonight in Orlando as the Magic take on the Pistons. Both teams are in the bottom 10 in Defensive Rating and bottom 5 in Offensive Rating. While we won’t be itching to tune into this matchup, we must consider these players for fantasy purposes. The Pistons currently rank 30th in fantasy points allowed to the power forward position, and Carter Jr. averages 1.14 fantasy points per minute this season.

Center

Hassan Whiteside ($6,900 DK, $6,500 FD)

PLAYER TEAM GP W L MIN PTS TOUCHES REB CHANCES POTENTIAL AST
Hassan Whiteside UTA 38 24 14 17.3 8.4 15.8 12.5 0.5

We’ve mentioned already that the Jazz will be without their defensive anchor Rudy Gobert tonight. In 1357 possessions with Rudy off the floor, Whiteside averages 1.19 fantasy points per minute. Whiteside has started the last 5 games and averaged 31.2 minutes played.
