The NBA Rundown – FanDuel & DraftKings NBA DFS Picks – January 15, 2022 (1/15/22) – FantasyCruncher.com DFS Articles & Insights – fantasycruncher.com

Please note that players on DraftKings and FanDuel have multi-position eligibility and may not always match their position between each other. In this article, we will be breaking down some of our favorite plays on the slate at their positions. Remember to keep your eye on the news as the day progresses, as NBA news frequently changes the slate.

Point Guard

Spencer Dinwiddie ($6,800 DK, $6,900 FD)

PLAYER TEAM GP W L MIN PTS TOUCHES REB CHANCES POTENTIAL AST
Spencer Dinwiddie WAS 33 18 15 30.3 13.5 68 7.3 11.4

Tonight’s matchup against the Blazers is a positive one for the Wiz, Portland currently ranks 30th in Defensive Rating, and they are missing multiple key rotation players. The Wizards will also be without Bradley Beal due to COVID protocols; in 525 minutes with Beal off the floor, Dinwiddie averages 1.16 fantasy points per minute. Portland ranks 18th in fantasy points allowed to the point guard position.

Shooting Guard

Alec Burks ($5,800 DK, $5,900 FD)

PLAYER TEAM GP W L MIN PTS TOUCHES REB CHANCES POTENTIAL AST
Alec Burks NYK 40 20 20 27.5 12 46.9 7.1 4.5

The Hawks have disappointed after their deep run into the playoffs last season, mostly due to their poor defense. Currently, the Hawks rank 28th in Defensive Rating and 18th in Pace. On the Knicks ‘ side of the ball, they’ll be without Kemba Walker, and we should see Burks start and play a large role. In this situation, Burks is averaging about .9 fantasy points per minute, and the Knicks are 23rd in fantasy points allowed to the point guard position.

Small Forward

Jayson Tatum ($9,300 DK, $9,900 FD)

PLAYER TEAM GP W L MIN PTS TOUCHES REB CHANCES POTENTIAL AST
Jayson Tatum BOS 37 19 18 36.7 25.4 73.8 12.7 8.4

The Celtics host the Bulls tonight in Boston; the Bulls have taken control of the number 1 seed in the Eastern Conference and have been a pleasant surprise this season. The SF position is a little thin tonight, so I like the idea of paying up for Tatum and his ceiling. The Bulls rank 29th in fantasy points allowed to the small forward position, and on the season, Tatum is averaging 1.25 fantasy points per minute.

Power Forward

Julius Randle ($8,600 DK, $8,200 FD)

PLAYER TEAM GP W L MIN PTS TOUCHES REB CHANCES POTENTIAL AST
Julius Randle NYK 39 20 19 35.4 18.9 76.7 17.2 10.4

Randle has had a string of duds lately, only exceeding value twice out of his last seven games. However, as mentioned previously, this is a plus matchup against Atlanta, and this is an excellent chance for him to get back on track. The Hawks rank 26th in fantasy points allowed to the power forward position, and Randle averages 1.18 fantasy points per minute.

Center

Nikola Jokic ($12,600 DK, $11,100 FD)

PLAYER TEAM GP W L MIN PTS TOUCHES REB CHANCES POTENTIAL AST
Nikola Jokic DEN 35 20 15 32.7 25.5 99.1 21.3 13

Jokic has to be the player I’ve written up the most this season, but he’s almost always the best pay-up option from an analytical perspective and a no-brainer most nights. The Lakers come into Denver playing at a top 3 pace and ranking 17th in Defensive Rating. I like Jokic a bit more on Fanduel tonight due to the Salary differences, but I’ll be loading up on him across all platforms.
