Please note that players on DraftKings and FanDuel have multi-position eligibility and may not always match their position between each other. In this article, we will be breaking down some of our favorite plays on the slate at their positions. Remember to keep your eye on the news as the day progresses, as NBA news frequently changes the slate.
Point Guard
Anfernee Simons ($6,500 DK, $7,500 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | POTENTIAL AST |
| Anfernee Simons | POR | 32 | 14 | 18 | 25.1 | 13.3 | 45.1 | 4.9 | 5.1 |
Simons has the keys to the franchise with Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum on the shelf with injuries. Over the last 3 games, Simons has been averaging 28.3 points, 7 rebounds, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.3 stocks. Tonight’s matchup against the Kings is favorable, and I’m expecting Simons to keep the good performances rolling. The Kings are ranked 27th in Defensive Rating and are playing at a top 10 Pace.
Shooting Guard
Desmond Bane ($6,400 DK, $7,200 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | POTENTIAL AST |
| Desmond Bane | MEM | 39 | 25 | 14 | 30 | 17.4 | 55.5 | 7.8 | 4.9 |
The Grizzlies have multiple key players that are questionable to play in tonight’s matchup against the Lakers. Dillion Brooks is doubtful to play with an ankle injury, and Ja Morant is questionable with a thigh injury. Bane has been a stabilizing force for this team; over the last 7 games, he’s averaging 22.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.3 stocks. The Lakers are a mediocre defensive team and play at the 2nd fastest pace in the league; I like Bane’s chances to post another solid score tonight.
Small Forward
LeBron James ($11,600 DK, $11,500 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | POTENTIAL AST |
| LeBron James | LAL | 27 | 15 | 12 | 36.9 | 28.6 | 89.1 | 12.3 | 13.1 |
Thanks to LeBron’s stellar play, the Lakers are on a four-game winning streak, and he’s scored over 70 DraftKings points in 3 of his last 5 games. LeBron is currently probable to play with an abdominal injury; if he suits up, he’s a no-brainer play tonight.
Power Forward
Nassir Little ($5,000 DK, $5,500 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | POTENTIAL AST |
| Nassir Little | POR | 32 | 13 | 19 | 24.4 | 8.9 | 31.3 | 9.4 | 2.5 |
We’ve already touched on this matchup against the Kings for the Blazers, and everything said previously applies here. Larry Nance is also out with a left knee injury which opens up extra opportunity on the wing. Little has disappointed over his last 2 games, but he has flashed his upside previously this season, and I like him in this spot.
Center
Karl-Anthony Towns ($9,700 DK, $9,900 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | POTENTIAL AST |
| Karl-Anthony Towns | MIN | 31 | 16 | 15 | 34.5 | 24.2 | 65.4 | 16.6 | 6.8 |
Towns may go slightly under the radar tonight due to the number of options available at the position. Still, tonight’s matchup against Houston should keep him firmly in consideration for your tournament lineups. Houston currently owns the worst defense in the league and ranks 27th in fantasy points allowed to the center position. On the season, Towns is averaging 1.31 fantasy points per minute.
