Please note that players on DraftKings and FanDuel have multi-position eligibility and may not always match their position between each other. In this article, we will be breaking down some of our favorite plays on the slate at their positions. Remember to keep your eye on the news as the day progresses, as NBA news frequently changes the slate.
Point Guard
Chris Paul ($7,400 DK, $7,800 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | POTENTIAL AST |
| Chris Paul | PHX | 34 | 27 | 7 | 32.2 | 14.4 | 74.6 | 7.1 | 18.6 |
The Suns take on the Hornets tonight, and on paper, it’s the most appealing matchup on the slate. Both teams play at a top 5 Pace, and the Hornets are ranked 28th in Defensive Rating and 30th in fantasy points allowed to the point guard position. This spot is too good for Chris Paul, and I won’t be overanalyzing this one.
Shooting Guard
Tyler Herro ($7,300 DK, $6,600 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | POTENTIAL AST |
| Tyler Herro | MIA | 29 | 18 | 11 | 32.1 | 20.6 | 64.4 | 9.4 | 7.7 |
Tonight’s matchup against the Kings is favorable for the Heat; the Kings currently rank 26th in Defensive Rating and 7th in Pace. Herro is a streaky player, especially with Butler and Lowry available to play, but I like his ceiling in this spot.
Small Forward
LeBron James ($12,000 DK, $11,400 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | POTENTIAL AST |
| LeBron James | LAL | 24 | 12 | 12 | 37.2 | 28 | 90.3 | 12.4 | 13.5 |
Lebron has been on an absolute tear lately, averaging 37.3 points, 12.6 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 3.6 stocks. There’s enough value on this slate to justify his high price tag, and I’ll be looking to ride the hot hand here.
Power Forward
Jalen Smith ($5,000 DK, $5,300 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | POTENTIAL AST |
| Jalen Smith | PHX | 13 | 10 | 3 | 10.9 | 4.9 | 15.9 | 7.4 | 0.6 |
Due to health and safety protocols, the Suns have been without Ayton, and JaVale McGee and Jalen Smith have filled in admirably. Over the last three games, he’s averaging 15 points, ten rebounds, and 1.6 stocks. The Hornets rank 30th in fantasy points allowed to the center position, and I’m expecting another double-double from the Sun’s big man.
Center
Damian Jones ($3,000 DK, $4,000 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | POTENTIAL AST |
| Damian Jones | SAC | 19 | 7 | 12 | 12.8 | 5.2 | 17.2 | 6.9 | 1.2 |
Jones is minimum salary on Draftkings tonight, and he should garner a ton of ownership with Richuan Holmes on health and safety protocols. We’ve seen Jones flash his upside a few times this season, posting 12x value against the Spurs and back-to-back 9x games against OKC & MEM. His price point on DraftKings is tough to ignore.
