Please note that players on DraftKings and FanDuel have multi-position eligibility and may not always match their position between each other. In this article, we will be breaking down some of our favorite plays on the slate at their positions. Remember to keep your eye on the news as the day progresses, as NBA news frequently changes the slate.
Point Guard
James Harden ($10,700 DK, $10,200 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | POTENTIAL AST |
| James Harden | BKN | 26 | 18 | 8 | 36.2 | 20.8 | 92.4 | 13.4 | 18.2 |
Harden is back from health and safety protocols, and he takes center stage as the Net’s lone star in this prime-time Christmas day matchup in Los Angeles. The Lakers currently play at the league’s fastest pace and rank 11th in Defensive Rating. In 1317 minutes with Durant off the floor, Harden averaged 1.55 fantasy points per minute.
Shooting Guard
Delon Wright ($4,800 DK, $5,100 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | POTENTIAL AST |
| Delon Wright | ATL | 29 | 15 | 14 | 15.9 | 3.2 | 31.3 | 4.7 | 4.9 |
Today, Trae Young was officially ruled out, and Delon will start again. In his last two starts, he’s been solid and not spectacular, but the opportunity has been there, averaging 36.5 minutes, 7 points, six rebounds, five assists, and 1.5 stocks. Delon is probable to play now, but we should closely monitor this situation.
Small Forward
Talen Horton-Tucker ($5,400 DK, $5,000 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | POTENTIAL AST |
| Talen Horton-Tucker | LAL | 17 | 8 | 9 | 29.5 | 10.9 | 48.8 | 7.8 | 5.5 |
LeBron James is probable to play tonight, but the Lakers have been struck by health and safety protocols, opening up many opportunities on the wing. THT is averaging 33 minutes in his last three games, 11.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and two stocks. While he hasn’t had a breakout performance yet, he’s primed to do so in this spot.
Power Forward
Julius Randle ($10,200 DK, $8,700 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | POTENTIAL AST |
| Julius Randle | NYK | 32 | 14 | 18 | 35.5 | 19.8 | 76.6 | 16.3 | 10.4 |
If you squint your eyes, this is the heated rivalry we saw form in last year’s playoffs. In reality, both teams have been hit pretty hard by health and safety protocols. The Hawks rank 24th in Defensive Rating and 30th in fantasy points allowed to the PF position, and Randle has a chance to post a massive score in this one.
Center
Rudy Gobert ($9,200 DK, $9,200 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | POTENTIAL AST |
| Rudy Gobert | UTA | 31 | 22 | 9 | 32 | 15.5 | 34.2 | 24.9 | 1.7 |
Gobert has been in excellent form lately; he’s averaged 18 points, 17.6 rebounds, two assists, and 3.4 stocks over his last five games. The Mavericks currently rank 13th in Defensive Rating and 24th in fantasy points allowed to the center position. Most of the ownership will trend towards the value options at the position, but I think there’s merit to paying up to be contrarian in this spot.
