Semper Fortis Esports PLC (AQSE:SEMP) announced its SMPR Rocket League team secured a top four position in the first local area network (LAN) RLCS Major since the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which took place last weekend in Stockholm, Sweden.
The esports company said its team started with “great energy”, beating South American, Middle East and North African opponents on the first day of the tournament.
It went on to beat rivals Dignitas in the quarter finals before losing out to the eventual winners, Team BDS, in the semi-finals.
It was the first LAN event where the team played under the ‘SMPR’ banner and was also an opportunity to for the players to wear the new team jersey.
The prize pool money for going out in the semi-finals was US$25,500.
Top 4 at our first offline event as a team is something we’re immensely proud of.@Kassio_RL, @Chausette45, @ArchieRL_, and coach @billyVIBIN will continue to push the limits.
Thank you all for your support over the past week, we’ll be back even stronger in the next split ❤️ pic.twitter.com/JTBlHO35lW
