Please note that players on DraftKings and FanDuel have multi-position eligibility and may not always match their position between each other. In this article, we will be breaking down some of our favorite plays on the slate at their positions. Remember to keep your eye on the news as the day progresses, as NBA news frequently changes the slate.
Point Guard
Dejounte Murray ($9,100 DK, $9,500 FD)
PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | P-AST |
Dejounte Murray | SAS | 9 | 3 | 6 | 34 | 18 | 86.1 | 14.3 | 15.1 |
Murray has been stellar this season, stuffing the stat sheet in all areas and demolishing his DFS price tag. The tracking data puts him in elite territory. There are currently only 4 players in the league averaging at least 50 touches, 14 rebounding chances, and 10 potential assists; Dejounte Murray, Jokic, Draymond Green, and Giannis. If he continues on this tear, he’ll be priced in the $10k+ range before we know it.
Shooting Guard
Josh Giddey ($6,300 DK, $6,000 FD)
PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | P-AST |
Josh Giddey | OKC | 8 | 2 | 6 | 29 | 11 | 68.1 | 9.4 | 11 |
Right off the bat, we have two players from the SAS@OKC matchup. Giddey has been very impressive in his rookie campaign, and as you can see by his tracking data, he’s making an impact all over the floor. Over his last 5 games, Giddy is averaging 11 points, 5.6 rebounds, 7 assists, 2.6 stocks across 30.8 minutes per game with a 21% usage rate.
Small Forward
Miles Bridges ($8,100 DK, $8,400 FD)
PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | P-AST |
Miles Bridges | CHA | 10 | 5 | 5 | 36 | 23 | 52.7 | 11.8 | 5.4 |
Bridges finally had a disappointing performance in his last outing, after stringing together 8 games where he averaged 25 points, 8 rebounds, 3.12 assists, 2.6 stocks across 36 minutes per game with a 26% usage rate. Tonight’s matchup with the Clippers should be an interesting one, and I’m expecting Bridges to get back on track. PJ Washington is OUT tonight, and Mason Plumlee is probable to play with a rib injury.
Power Forward
Christian Wood ($9,000 DK, $8,200 FD)
PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | P-AST |
Christian Wood | HOU | 9 | 1 | 8 | 35 | 19 | 64.1 | 18.4 | 4.8 |
The Rockets are a bottom 3 offense, matching up with the Warriors, who currently hold the best Defensive Rating and Net Ratings in the NBA. On paper, the Rocket’s prospects are grim; however, if they will keep this game competitive, they will need a big game from Christian Wood. I like Wood more on FD tonight, but I also like the idea of getting away from the chalkier constructions on Draftkings in tournaments.
Center
Bobby Portis ($4,400 DK, $4,400 FD)
There certainly won’t be any tracking data to support this play, but the Bucks are riddled with injuries, and someone has to soak up some production. Milwaukee is currently without Middleton, DiVincenzo, Lopez, and Grayson Allen is questionable to play with an illness. With Middleton, DiVincenzo, Lopez off the floor, Portis is historically a 1.21
