Minecraft Education Edition update 1.17 is available to download and install to get features from the Cave and Cliffs part 1.
Microsoft loyalists can now download the Java Edition for free by subscribing to Xbox Game Pass. If you play on computers, you can also experience snapshot 21w44a for the Java Edition and there’s a new launcher to install.
This new launcher is available right now, but it doesn’t support this version of the game.

How to update Minecraft Education Edition to 1.17?
You should automatically download and update Minecraft Education Edition to 1.17.
The version was released on November 2nd and it should download on its own if you have automatic app updates turned on for Windows 10. If you don’t, just follow the below steps:
- Enter the Microsoft store on your computer
- Select Account and then App settings
- Turn app updates on
As for desktop versions, Mojang says that it will download on its own if you do not have http://meedownloads.blob.core.windows.net/ blocked.
New features
Some of the new features for Minecraft Education Edition update 1.17 include 40-person multiplayer.
It also allows you to save photos as items plus it’s called the GOAT update because it adds goats. Other mobs include glowing squids and Axolotls.
Of course, it adds the Nether patch to the game as well as Cave and Cliffs part 1. Mojang has provided patch notes for both.
