Minecraft coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC on November 2 – App Trigger

Xbox Game Pass, the subscription service that keeps on giving. In addition to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition coming to Game Pass next month, subscribers can also look forward to Minecraft on PC.

Now Minecraft has been available for what seems like forever, but if for some reason you’ve managed to avoid it, you have no excuse now. This is the ultimate sandbox video game. There’s a reason it’s the best-selling video game of all time.

Minecraft has come a long way since its inception as a simple sandbox exploration game. There are now multiple game modes, customization that makes nearly anything possible, and multiplayer support.

Both the Java and Bedrock Editions of Minecraft will be available on Xbox Game Pass. If you’re confused, the Java Edition is PC only, meaning no cross-play with console. However, it’s much more flexible in terms of gameplay as you can download any skin online or even make your own to use and you have access to all of the community-made mods,  meaning nearly endless gameplay experiences. Again, the only drawback is you can’t play with people on other platforms so if all of you don’t mind playing on PC, Java Edition could be the way to go.

That being said, the Bedrock Edition is the one you’ll want if you want to take advantage of cross-play with PC, console and mobile. Unlike Java, which allows you to download skins from online, the Bedrock version relies on the Marketplace where you have to purchase add-ons or skin packs. The Bedrock Edition is also said to run smoother than the Java Edition as it does not require powerful computers or devices. It also supports controllers for movement or touch controls on mobile.

The good news is you aren’t stuck with one version. You can switch between editions directly from the unified Minecraft Launcher.
