An Odd Idea that worked wonders – Rocket League – MarylandReporter.com – MarylandReporter.com

In a world where game developers are trying to mimic real life in each and every possible way from visuals to stories to emotions, it is so hard to come up with an unorthodox idea and make players play it. I mean, who would have thought of playing soccer with cars? I mean I wouldn’t, but Psyonix did and developed a weird (to me) idea into a game that has turned out to be one of the most popular multiplayer games of this decade. The game is said to be so much fun and so competitive by its players and it surely seems like one.

The game was released all the way back in 2015 and since the release of the game, it has amassed millions of players from around the world and although it seems like a pretty dumb idea, Psyonix has managed to turn it into one of the most fun games of all time. I mean, it’s way more fun and exciting playing soccer with cars than it is playing soccer with humans. The game has botched numerous awards over the years and here’s what makes it so popular!

Why do Players Love Rocket League?

Rocket League has surely taken the gaming world by storm, the demand has been so high that the game just recently hit 11 million downloads, what made this possible is the fact that no one could have ever predicted a game quite like this. As I said, it’s an odd idea for sure, and Rocket League did confuse a lot of gamers at first, soccer with cars powered by rockets, ok. But the senseless and mindless fun of the game overwhelms almost every little rational fact. Trying to pinpoint Rocket League’s success is a hard job to do because the game does almost everything so well that it has kept us playing for months.

Another reason that makes this game so great is the fact that it’s so simple to play yet so hard to master. It’s an extremely easy game to choose and kick-off. All you need to know is Gas, Brake and Jump and that’s it. But if you want to take it to the next level, it’s totally up to you; however that’s a totally different story. I have seen players driving off walls and pulling off such perfectly aerial shots, or balancing the ball on the hoods of the cars like if some pro football player was balancing a ball on his head. And while it might seem like an easy job to pull off, mastering these tricks in Rocket League is as hard as it gets, I mean there’s a lot going on at the same time that it becomes so overwhelming for new players but you can always hire a pro RL player to rescue you and even teach you some cool stuff.

There are literally tons of guides about how to master Rocket League, how to become a good Rocket League player, even I have written a bunch of these guides but what it all comes down to is consistency and just HAVING FUN in the game because that’s what it is all about. If you are having a good time in the game, your playstyle will improve and the skills will surely follow.

Rocket League is more than just a dumb Idea

The depth of car customization of this game sometimes makes me wonder if this could have been a great NFS game, frankly so. Collecting different cosmetics for cars was never expected to be so entertaining but it actually is. Rocket League allows you to personalize your car with a number of cool Rocket League items as a side activity which keeps you engaged in the game for way longer than you had originally planned. How great it would be to have a soccer team of sombrero wearing Vans or a team of construction cars. Rocket League is one of the most rewarding games out there that constantly encourages its players to keep playing and staying in the game with a constant supply of rewards.

Rocket League has one of the best match-making systems out there, it doesn’t matter if you want to go all alone or with your mates, the fully-functioning matchmaking of Rocket League pairs you against players of the same skill level. All these reasons make Rocket league so great but at its core, it’s just an extraordinarily fun game, and that triumphs over every other reason.
