Every day this season, our team shares who we believe has the best chance to leave the yard. From one-off plays to core parts of daily stacks, we hope this fun article will help you build winning lineups along the way.
Today’s Picks
James: Salvador Perez – “Griffin Jax has allowed 16 home runs over his last ten starts which span 50 innings. That is a home run allowed roughly every 3.1 innings for Jax over his last ten outings. Righties hold a slight slugging advantage on Jax, slugging at a .578 clip on the season and hold 16 of the 23 homers he has allowed. Salvador Perez has 48 homers on the year and if he wants to make it to 50, this is a great matchup for him to do it in.”
Zach: Yasmani Grandal – “I’m going to pick on Manning’s 6.16 ERA this year tonight with Grandal. He’s been the White Sox’ best hitter against RHP all season long, with a 149 wRC+ (.388 wOBA), 21% walk rate, .907 OPS, and .282 ISO in 271 PA. Not to mention a mere .230 BABIP (the shift is the killer here thanks to his 49% pull%). Thanks to a nice fly ball and hard contact bias here, he should be able to put together a really productive evening while hopefully leaving the yard in the process.”
Jared: Tyler O’Neill – “After another big game last night, I’m going to ride the wave with the breakout RHB tonight. He’s been a beast against LHP this year, but has plenty to show for himself against RHP as well. Especially soft ones like Adrian Sampson (2.0 HR/9 on the year). He is rocking a .519 SLG and .242 ISO against righties in 2021, and over the last couple of weeks has a .347 ISO / .612 SLG / 16.7% barrel rate with a 91 mph EV.”
