Every day this season, our team shares who we believe has the best chance to leave the yard. From one-off plays to core parts of daily stacks, we hope this fun article will help you build winning lineups along the way.
Today’s Picks
James: Aaron Judge – “Keegan Akin carries a 6.90 ERA and a 1.65 WHIP and while he is coming off of back-to-back strong starts, he still allowed a home run in each of those games and has allowed five long balls over his last four starts. Judge has 30 homers on the year and 10 of them coming against lefty bats, but he has also faced lefties in just 42% of his plate appearances. On the year Judge carries a .310 average and .566 slugging vs southpaws.”
Zach: Eduardo Escobar – “Jon Lester is pitching well right now allowing only one run in three of his last four starts but don’t believe the recent numbers. Lester is an awful pitcher who you want to target hitters against, especially right-handed hitters. This season Lester is allowing righties to slash .314/.382/.521 with a .384 wOBA. Lester also has an HR/9 rate of 1.67 against right-handed hitters this season.”
Jared: Randy Arozarena – “Griffin Jax has allowed the most barrels over the last month (10) and leads with a 15% barrel rate as well. In his last 4 starts, he’s rocking a 4.80 SIERA and 8.31 ERA while also coughing up HRs at a 3.32 per 9 rate. An extreme fly ball pitcher with RHBs crushing the ball at a .587 SLG and .373 wOBA rate (3.1 HR/9) this year, I’m happy to take the TB bat hitting the ball the best right now (15.4% barrel rate, .381 ISO and a 190 wRC+ in his last week of action).”
