The MLB DFS Dinger of the Day – July 19, 2021 (7/19/21) – FantasyCruncher.com DFS Articles & Insights – fantasycruncher.com

Every day this season, our team shares who we believe has the best chance to leave the yard. From one-off plays to core parts of daily stacks, we hope this fun article will help you build winning lineups along the way.

Today’s Picks

James: Trey Mancini – “I’ll admit this is a little bit of a BvP play, but it also lines up as a good call outside of the success Mancini has had against Yarbrough. Yarbrough has allowed 15 long balls on the year and 14 of them have come to right-handed batters. While Mancini has 16 homers of the year, eight have come to lefties and eight to righties. That being said, he has about half the plate appearances against LHP than he does RHP. On the year, Mancini is slugging .563 against lefties with a .277 batting average. As mentioned, this pick has some BvP rooted into it as Mancini has six hits in 20 career at-bats against Yarbrough, with three of them leaving the yard – equating to a .850 slugging and .550 ISO in this matchup.”

Zach: Jesse Winker – “It has been 20 days since Winker went deep but I don’t think Winker’s homer-less streak continues past tonight. The reason why I feel this way is due to Winker’s match-up against Jerad Eickhoff. Eickhoff has allowed six home runs in his 12.2 innings of action this season and has been absolutely awful against lefties. While I know the sample size of 29 batters this season is a very small one Eickhoff is allowing lefties to slug 1.037 with five of his six home runs allowed.”

Jared: Eugenio Suarez – “I definitely want to pick on Jerad Eickhoff’s 4.26 HR/9 rate over his last 3 appearances, giving up 6 long balls in just 12.2 IP with a 6.04 SIERA in that time. He traditionally gets absolutely man-handled by LHBs, but isn’t very good against RHB either. Suarez hasn’t been playing terribly well in 2021 at all, but still has plenty of power in his bat and gets a tasty matchup here that he can easily feast on. In his last 2 years against RHP (200 GP), he has a .269 ISO, .348 wOBA and .503 SLG in the split with nearly 50 long balls. It’s a bit risky to take him during an off-year, but he’s making a lot of hard contact these days, has a fly ball bias, and faces the weakest SP on the slate. Count me in for that ride!”
