Minecraft: Bedrock Edition may not support mods, but it does offer thousands of content packs courtesy of the Minecraft community, independent studios, and Mojang Studios themselves via the Minecraft Marketplace. Starting today, the Minecraft Marketplace is welcoming the arrival of summer with its Summer Celebration sale, which lasts from now until July 12, 2021. Players can expect big discounts (up to 75% off) on a wide variety of content through the Minecraft Marketplace.
If you’re looking to expand beyond vanilla Minecraft, now might be a good time to do it. The Minecraft Marketplace Summer Celebration will offer discounts on new adventure maps, texture packs, skin packs, Character Creator items, and more. Mojang Studios is also offering two free maps throughout the event to incentivize players to participate, with the first free map available now. Finally, a new Character Creator item will be available for free every single day during the event.
The Minecraft Marketplace is slightly controversial for veteran Minecraft players, but it does offer a huge and diverse collection of additional (and optional) content for Minecraft players on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, PS5, PS4, Switch, Android, and iOS devices. The Minecraft Marketplace even added official Sonic DLC recently.
The Summer Celebration sale is running for two weeks, so be sure to check in to see if anything catches your eye, especially if you’re looking to play something other than the recently released 1.17 Caves and Cliffs Update Part One for Minecraft.
