The launch of the WoW Classic TBC Pre Patch has been a bumpy ride so far, and some new server problems have taken players offline once more.
When trying to log back in, many players are receiving the “A character with that name already exists” error code.
This error code has shown up plenty in WoW’s history – especially most recently with the launch of Shadowlands.
This error code is a sign that servers are experiencing issues, and it may not be one that’s solved any time soon.

Server Status
While WoW Classic TBC servers are live, and some players can get through, many players are having disconnection issues and error messages.
This is typical of a World of Warcraft launch, and should be cleaned up through Wednesday.
