‘Fortnite’ Servers Are Back Online And Season 6 Is Live – Forbes

Update: Servers are back online and Fortnite’s sixth season of Chapter 2—Primal—is live. Check out the Battle Pass overview here.

Original story:

Fortnite servers are offline. If you’re trying to play Epic’s popular battle royale game this evening, you’re out of luck.

Season 5 is over and Season 6 is about to begin. Epic Games shut down Fortnite this evening for the big Season 6 update. When the game comes back online there will be a brand new Battle Pass, a variety of map changes and an overhaul of the game’s available weapons and items.

Downtime kicked off at 12 am ET / 9 pm PT and should last for several hours. That means the new season should kick off in the early morning hours for North American gamers.

Rumor has it that Season 6 is soccer-themed with a Neymar (aka Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior) crossover as the main event. That would be a first for Fortnite. While the game has had plenty of crossovers and sports-themed skins, it’s never had a sports-themed Season.

Stay tuned to Forbes Games for complete coverage of the new season and Season 6, Week 1 challenges. Whatever the theme may be, we’ve got you covered. Time to get tha new umbrella.

Happy hunting, young padawans!
