With the addition of Minecraft Snapshot 21w07a, we got a brand-new type of block: Grimstone, a block similar to Blackstone in behavior but is denser than Blackstone and Cobblestone. Four major variants of Grimstone can be crafted into Slabs, Walls and Stairs, and a standalone fifth Chiseled variant. Here is a look at all the Grimstone varieties currently in Minecraft.
Grimstone
Grimstone is the most basic form of the block. It is found in the Overworld exclusively below y = 0. This will be the block used to create all currently craftable variants of Grimstone, and can also be used to craft stone tools, furnaces, and brewing stand.

Polished Grimstone
Polished Grimstone is made via placing 4 Grimstone in a square formation in a Crafting Grid of any size. Polished Grimstone can also be crafted into Slabs, Stairs, and Walls via the same methods as Grimstone. Like with other Polished variants, a square of 4 Polished Grimstone will not yield any outcome.
Grimstone Tiles and Grimstone Bricks
Grimstone Tiles and Grimstone Bricks can only currently be acquired via the Creative menu or commands. They do not currently naturally generate and cannot be crafted. While they cannot be crafted, they can be crafted with Grimstone Tiles and Grimstone Bricks also; both can also be crafted into Slabs, Stairs, and Walls via the same methods as Grimstone.
Chiseled Grimstone
The last variant of Grimstone is Chiseled Grimstone. It resembles a skull, and it can be crafted by placing one Grimstone slab on top of another in a Crafting Grid of any size. Chiseled Grimstone cannot be crafted with, and is a standalone block.
Altogether, the introduction of Grimstone adds 17 new possible blocks into the game, though 8 of them are only available via creative or commands. Grimstone was added in Minecraft Snapshot 21w07a.
