Registration is now open for ESports tournaments with GGLeagues and the Norwell Recreation Department.
Norwell Recreation and GGLeagues will offer programs Rocket League 3 v. 3, NHL 21, Super Smash Bros, Fortnite 1 v. 1 and Fortnite 2 v. 2. Rocket League tournaments will be held March 6 and the registration deadline is Feb. 26. NHL 21 tournaments will be held March 13 and the registration deadline is March 5. Super Smash Bros tournaments will be held March 20 and the registration deadline is March 12. Fortnite 1 v. 1 tournaments will be held March 27 and the registration deadline is March 19. Fortnite 2 v. 2 tournaments will be held March 28 and the registration deadline is March 19.
Beginner and competitive divisions are available for Rocket League 3 v. 3 which is available across platforms. NHL 21 is offered on Xbox One or PS4. Super Smash Bros is available on Nintendo Switch. Fortnite is available across platforms. All registration is directly through the town of Norwell Recreation Department.
The registration fee is $20 per participant. Separate divisions are available for participants 18 and older and participants ages 8 to 17 years old.
The Norwell Recreation Department is a member of the South Shore ESports League. Norwell Recreation participants will compete against other teams and participants from communities such as Norwell, Rockland, Sharon, Haverhill, Cohasset, Bourne, Mashpee and Dover.
