Some players are trying to figure out what are shrubs in Fortnite. Fortunately, we’ve whipped up a handy guide.
Longtime Fortnite players are no stranger to the abundance of odd quests and challenges that fill each new chapter and season in-game. Epic Games has come up with some creative tasks over the years—from collaborations with companies like Marvel to unlock Dr. Doom or harmless fun joining a tomato cult.

Shrubs are, essentially, just little bushes. Their literal definition is “any woody plant that has several stems, none dominant, and is usually less than 10 feet tall,” according to Britannia. Fortunately, we don’t have to get that specific. Shrubs in Fortnite are either short, round bushes, often decorated with flowers or other plant-growth or ground-based wide ferns a la Jurassic Park.
Players can find such shrubs exactly where they’d expect—sprouting around Pleasant Park or Holly Hedges.
There are five stages to this challenge, requiring players to destroy an increasing amount of shrubs at each tier. At the end, they will receive 75000 experience points for their efforts. This challenge tends to be one of the rarer requests—not that it really matters. Who wouldn’t want to earn a huge boost to their experience just for a bit of weed whacking?
