Guild Esports PLC (LON:GILD) said it has signed Henrik Mclean, a top-ranked professional esports player, to its Fortnite team.
The company said Mclean will join Nikolaj Andreas Frøslev, who was recruited to the team on November 19, 2020. The two players have a combined social media following of around 335,000 across several channels including YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and Twitch.

Mclean has signed a one-year contract with Guild with an option to renew for an additional year. He will compete alongside Frøslev under the Guild banner in Fortnite tournaments either jointly or separately depending on fixtures and match opportunities.
The new player will also join Guild’s existing rosters competing in Valorant, a 5v5 multiplayer tactical shooter; Rocket League, a motor-racing and soccer hybrid game; and FIFA, the eponymous football franchise.
Mclean will be Guild Esport’s youngest player at the age of 15, having previously achieved success by finishing in the top three this year in Fortnite’s EU Encore and DreamHack events. He also finished ninth in the Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) Trio Finals, is ranked as the third-best player in the UK and is regarded as an industry “one-to-watch”, having won over US$100,000 in tournament prize pools to date.
“We are delighted to welcome [Mclean] to the Guild family. [Mclean and Frøslev] will soon be joined by another leading player who will make our Fortnite team one to follow and watch by millions of fans worldwide. We look forward to seeing their remarkable talents develop even further under the Guild team brand and academy system”, Guild executive chairman Carleton Curtis said in a statement.
