SMSU Esports program to host four December camps – Marshall Independent

MARSHALL — The Southwest Minnesota State University Esports program will host its first-ever Esports Camp on Dec. 26-27 on the campus of SMSU.

The Esports Camp, under the direction of SMSU head coach Spencer Louwagie, will feature the games of Valorant, League of Legends, Rocket League and Super Smash Brothers.

The camp, which will be held in the Esports competition space located in ST 266, is available for individuals in grades 8-12 and costs $50 per camp. All four camps will focus on improving an individual game skill and will also feature a chance to test your abilities against members of the SMSU Esports team.

Individuals can sign-up for the camps at SMSUesportscamps.com.

The League of Legends camp will be held Dec. 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., while The Rocket League camp will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 26.

The Valorant camp will be Dec. 27 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by the Super Smash Brothers camp from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own keyboard, mouse and headset to the camp if they prefer, but SMSU will supply each item if needed. Super Smash Brothers camp participants will need to supply a switch and controller.
