We are surprisingly close to what, by all appearances, seems to be the normal end to a season here in Fortnite, something we haven’t seen for a little while. And so we’ve got Week 9 challenges here and ready for us to solve, in case you need some more experience to hit the top of the battle pass and unlock all the treats within. Let’s get on to Gas up a Car at Catty Corner, which uses the game’s recently added cars.
First off, you’ll need a car or a truck: I found a handy orange vehicle just down the road from Catty Corner itself, but these things are all over. This won’t work with older vehicles, only the recently added cars. Then, you’re going to want to move it on over to Catty Corner, in the Southeast part of the map: it’s labelled in big letters, so I’ll forego the traditional map on this one.
The gas station is on the southern side of this map. You’re going to want to pull up to one of the pumps, just like you would with a real car, if you’re old enough to drive one. Then, hit the interact button to grab the pump itself, and move it over to the car to start filling up.
The challenge should complete automatically: you don’t need to fill up the tank, which is handy in case you’re getting shot at as you’re doing this. But that’s all you need to do to net yourself some experience points.
And that’s it: a pretty straightforward challenge but a fun way to make sure you’re interacting with the cars in the game. It’s a funny thing that Fortnite got shopping carts, helicopters, battle mechs and hamster balls before, you know, cars, but it’s a wacky world we’re living in regardless, and it has been from the start. Stay tuned for more challenge guides as we barrel ahead to the end of the season, where we’ll see just what’s going to happen to transition to the Season 4. Expect a live event next weekend, I suppose.
