‘Fortnite’ Steamy Stacks Floating Rings Locations: Where To Collect Floating Rings – Forbes

We’ve been looking for floating rings for a few weeks, but these ones are doing some much more aggressive floating. The Week 5 challenges in Fortnite are live, and rings-based challenge takes us to Steamy Stacks, where a quick look on the ground won’t yield any rings at all. While previous weeks have been a little more terrestrial, this trip to Steamy Stacks will take you far, far up in the air, so get your building materials ready. Let’s go to a map, location and guide for where to collect floating rings at Steamy Stacks.

First, it’s not hard to find Steamy Stacks. It’s way up in the northeastern portion of the map, and the cooling towers are still sticking out far above the water line. Let’s take a look at the ring locations on the map, but caution that this 2D representation is limited.

So that’s where they are, basically. The catch? These rings are all way up in the air, and you’ll need to do some serious building. Your best bet is to do this as early in the match as you can, because the rings aren’t all that easy to see once the purple storm starts to muddy the sky. Just go in these general areas and look up: they’re not easy to see, but they’re there.

Then, you’ll want to do some building. If you’re very bold, or get the feeling you’ve got this place to yourself, you can just make one rickety staircase up to the level of the rings and try to get them all in one go, but you’ll leave yourself vulnerable to anyone that decides to shoot these things down. You’re not even safe in Team Rumble, where griefers might take out your staircase even if they’re on your team.

I think it took like 20 steps up to get my first ring: I doubt I did it as efficiently as possible, but you’ll still want a big stack of resources before going after these. It’s sort of a fun challenge, at the end of the day, providing an interesting spin on the old object hunt formula.
