A recent hotfix for Update v13.20 has given fans a glimpse into upcoming LTMs in Fortnite. Here is what you can expect to come to the client. | Photo courtesy of epic games

Limited-Time Modes will be making a return to Fortnite with the upcoming Summer of Splash event. LTMs are just that. Brief flashes of unhinged fun on the Fortnite battle royale map with wacky and zany twists on gameplay like The Floor Is Lava event in the past. Usually meant to be secret, the hotfix update on July 1 gave players a glimpse into what to expect with the coming summer events.

Always a hit with players looking for something different in their battle royale experience, the planned LTMs in rotation will be Blitz, High Explosives, Shotguns and Vault. While Blitz and High Explosives are returning affairs, Shotguns and Unvaulted will be completely new experiences.

Epic just hotfixed these LTMs (they are the next LTMs rotations):

– Blitz: Ammo box min spawn rate: 85%, max: 95%
– High Explosives: disabled bots
– Shotguns Only: they disabled the unreleased dragon shotgun
– Unvaulted: they disabled some weapons

A refresher for the returning modes and a primer for the new ones is below:

Blitz: Faster-paced version of the original Battle Royale. Storm shrinks faster, materials are harvested faster, et cetera.
High Explosives: The only weapons players can use are explosives. Self-explanatory.
Shotguns Only (Close Encounters): The only weapons players can use are shotguns and other short-ranged weapons. New to LTMs.
Unvaulted: Weapons that have previously been vaulted will be making a return in this mode. New to LTMs.

While the hotfix game players a glimpse into what to expect with the upcoming LTMs, the update also addressed certain gameplay aspects. Fortnite leaker and data-miner HYPEX has revealed what exactly went down with Wednesday’s update.

As of now there is no news on the return of other previous LTM modes such as The Floor is Lava or Fog of War will be making a return, but fans should keep their eyes peeled for any secret additions from Epic Games.
