FaZe Bizzle suggests 80 person Fortnite lobbies – Fortnite Tracker

Bizzle shared the idea for smaller lobbies after participating in the recent Ninja Battles Trios event.

Ever since its inception, Fortnite has been a 100-player Battle Royale. The pacing of the game changes from season to season depending on factors such as new POIs, mobility options and weapons/items.

With Season 3 now just days away, some people think that it is finally time to adjust the size of lobbies. However, the question is, should they be bigger, smaller or both?

FaZe Clan star Timothy “Bizzle” Miller and his trio came out on top during the latest edition of Ninja Battles. Following the tournament, which features lobbies of around 60 players, Bizzle tweeted to say, “Fortnite would be so much better if the lobby size was smaller than 100. I think 60 isn’t enough, but I think 80 players would be the perfect amount”.

A bunch of pros agreed, as well as competitive Fortnite fans on Reddit. The theory is, that with less players in each match, there will be less need to take risky 50/50 fights off spawn, and you won’t be punished so badly for getting unlucky with loot. On the other hand though, there is the argument that this would also make spectating events less entertaining.

It’s important to note that these suggestions are only for competitive modes. In public matches, many feel that the opposite needs to happen. Often, the lobbies die out so quickly that within five minutes of landing, there are just 20 players remaining.

Depending on how next season’s meta impacts things, it may make sense to increase the lobby size in standard game modes. This would mean more action, and more enjoyable matches. At the same time, the map is big enough that people who prefer to play passively could still do so.

So realistically, we want smaller lobbies for tournaments and bigger lobbies for public matches. Unfortunately, with Epic Games wanting to keep the two playlists as similar as possible, this seems unlikely. It is definitely a change that would be worth testing and it would be cool to see what effect it has on Fortnite games.
