Levi Wallace invites fans to Fortnite event to benefit cancer society – Buffalo News

Buffalo Bills cornerback Levi Wallace will be playing the video game Fortnite in a virtual livestream event Tuesday to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

The 24-year-old Wallace, entering his third season with the Bills, stops short of declaring himself the Bills’ Fortnite champion.

“I don’t know who’s the best,” he said. “I’m not going to say I’m the best, but I’m top five for sure.”

The event starts at 3 p.m. Tuesday. It’s part of the American Cancer Society’s #GivingTuesdayNow campaign, a global day of giving that has been launched in response to the needs caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Links to online donation opportunities will be displayed during the live event, called “Gamers vs. Cancer.”

Wallace said he expects Bills teammates Jordan Poyer and Jaquan Johnson to join in, along with some of his former University of Alabama teammates, including Carolina Panthers defensive end Christian Miller and former Jets linebacker Jamie Mosley.

“We’ll try to win some games,” Wallace said. “I’ll be streaming for four to five hours. Hopefully, I’ll get a couple wins. It’ll be embarrassing if I don’t.”

“I’m going to tell people why cancer means so much to me as I stream and talk a little bit about the American Cancer Society and all they’re doing in the community,” Wallace said. “My aunt passed away from breast cancer my freshman year of high school. My granddad passed away from prostate cancer before I turned 1.”
