
Fortnite remains one of, if not the most popular game in the world. Free-to-play and plastered with colourful graphics, quirky silliness and high intensity gameplay, this battle royale phenomenon has the kind of mass appeal that most gaming companies can only dream of.
That being said, with success comes competition and there’s no short supply of rivals vying to step into the spotlight.
Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds and Riot Game’s new approach to the genre, Valorant, are just two entries that have taken bite-sized chunks out of Epic’s userbase. However, as FPS titans Activision weigh in with Call of Duty: Warzone, pressure on Epic to keep Fortnite top of the pile has never been greater.
On that note, the advent of Fortnite’s inaugural second chapter brought a new, larger map, bundled with a whole host of new challenges, weapons and storylines. However, true to form, it also came part-in-parcel with issues new and old.
So, as we approach the end of Chapter Two’s second season, what issues do Epic need to address to keep their users happy, and tighten their grip on the most ferociously contested gaming genre in a generation?
