Lazarus drops entire Fortnite roster – Fortnite Tracker

Some top players are back on the market after Lazarus Esports recently released all ten members of their Fortnite team.

Canadian organisation, Lazarus Esports, have now parted ways with the entirety of their professional Fortnite roster. This news comes as quite a surprise for a couple of reasons:

Firstly, as recently as August 2019, Lazarus dropped their CS:GO squad in order to “focus on other core strengths”. This was taken by most to mean that the Fortnite roster would become a much bigger, if not the key focus of the business.

Secondly, it’s not like the Lazarus Fortnite players were underperforming. In fact, in terms of prize money, they were the highest earning Fortnite team in the world for 2019. A huge chunk of these winnings came from the World Cup, where they collected a stunning $3.45 million in total.

So then why have they made this decision. The short answer is, we don’t know for sure. Lazarus are yet to make any official comment on the situation, and we have learned of the split instead from the players themselves. It is possible however, that contracts have expired, and that with the lack of competitive news from Fortnite in 2020, they have simply chosen not to renew.

Regardless of the reasoning behind it all, there are now some elite tier players looking for a new organisation to represent. The 2nd place World Cup duo of Jaden “Wolfiez” Ashman and Dave “Rojo” Jong are both now Free Agents, as well as Nate “Kreo” Kou, who picked up 4th in the World Cup Solos event.
