As we await more news of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2, we speculate about the plot for the new chapter. One theory has us looking to the sky for answers.
Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 is still making its way to the finish line – slowly but surely. This is the longest Fortnite season we’ve ever experienced; made to feel longer by the fact that we’ve hardly received any major updates outside of Winterfest.
What’s more, the plot for Season 1 has been relatively empty. We’re not watching a comet gat closer to the island or a purple cube roam around the map. We’re just playing Fortnite day after day.
The only exception to this statement is the 8 Ball vs. Scratch skin. It appears as though the skin is corrupted or overheating, which may be a self-contained plot for Season 1 – similar to the Ice King in Season 7. We have a breakdown of the full Season 1 plot here if you missed it.

We don’t have much knowledge of the overarching plot of Chapter 2. Chapter 1 gave us the story of the Visitor. Chapter 2 hasn’t offered us any hints as to what’s to come.
Or, have they? Reddit user Atomicapples has pointed out the massive number of telescopes that seem to be around the new Fortnite map. The Chapter 1 island only had a handful of telescopes, but they seem to be everywhere in Chapter 2.
This reference makes sense, too. The Season 1 cinematic had us coming from the stars – whether or not the black hole was in a parallel universe.
The inhabitants of the Chapter 2 island also appear to be a bit smarter than the Chapter 1 residents. Steamy Stacks is a perfect example of this. They seem to have figured out how to harness the power of Kevin instead of letting it run rampant around the island.
It’s difficult to tell what else is going on in the Chapter 2 map. We’ll have to wait and see when the season ends. If the lack of content is any indication, though, Epic might be waiting for Season 2 before they introduce any new storylines.
